James Marshall Update 6-21

We went to see James last night and he is doing great. He is in such good spirits now. They are waiting for his last Dr. to release him then he will go to TIRR. He looks so good everybody! He is starting to become our James we all knew. He can talk with his trache now so NO MORE LIP READING! He is also going a lot longer without his pain meds which is great. He does have feeling to his stomach and can feel you touching his arms. It will be great to get him to rehab because the therapist don't come see him like they should. They haven't come to see him since last Thursday.

He can't drink or eat because the hole they repaired isn't healed yet. They gave him the go ahead to drink while he was in STICU but it was too soon. The repair hadn't had time to heal completely so there is a small hole there again. Everyone has hopes it will heal itself in time. There will be no more surgerys. That seemed to put him back two steps instead of forward.

Go see him...he is doing so much better since the last time you saw him. He is in such great spirits. He was telling us about when they took him to the burn unit to give him a bath, he saw all the people who were burned. He said he would rather be like he is than to be burned as bad as the people he saw. It made him realize that when you think you have it bad there is someone else out there whose life is worse. It gave him a new fighting spirit. When you are thankful for what you do have, you are able to move forward with strength to fight for more.

So get ready for some changes in him...he's ready to make a change, he's ready to fight for all he can. He's ready to become our James again!!!!! Keep him in your prayers and he once again wanted me to tell everyone Thank you all so much for caring about him. All your prayers and visits have kept his will from breaking. Remember it is through us all that he will draw his strength, and God will stand him up.
