With lots of looks of confusion as my old bike rides around not so fast and then I ride around on a shinny new bike. People are more confused to find Im on a new 07 YZ250F, wondering what the old one was and why did I sell it. With plans of selling my old 07 YZ250F in spring I had the word out now so I could line something up. With luck I found a buyer now so sold it and bought a new bike. Why bother selling the 07 in the first place? With over 110 hrs on the bike maintenance is required, which is where a bit of laziness with winter and not wanting to work on a bike in a cold garage can into consideration. Also the cost of repairs I wanted to do, it just made more sense to go new. Why buy another 07? Why not, its cheaper now to buy one and the 08s will be cheaper to buy mid to late summer then they are now. Ill still lose money on selling but that just part of it.
The New bike had the springs switched over from the old one and a hr meter added. The brakes needed to be bled from the get go and the suspension set up and still to settle in. Otherwise stock. No height changes will be made with this one and a new positioning of the bars and levers to help keep those elbows up. Only kept the front number plate off the old one so looking for new graphics next year.
With in the six days of owning the bike I have 6.8hrs on it. Winter is setting in so I need to get out as much as I can before I cant. Also time will be limited in November with going back to teaching Scuba diving more fully time then the little hours I put in over the summer.
To all the people heading down to Glen Helen, best of luck and travel safe. Ill see you there next year.
A great big Thank you to Seitzco Motorsports for all the help in swaping springs, set up, un/loading and in the purchase of the bike. |
