New bike and extreme mud conditions that I’ve never ridden in before. What does it mean when people look at the track and leave was my first thoughts in the morning? I’m up for trying and it was a challenge for sure. No practice just a hot lap before the race was given. Well I was still on the hot lap when the vet beginner class started, stuck on a hill. No worries still had the ladies B class. With luck the track was altered, but still it was a challenge to get around with a surprising first place in the first moto. Track was shaping up by the second round of motos but you still needed to stay in the ruts to keep moving. Moto 2 of the ladies race started rough with being hit by a vintage bike but still kept it up and going. The next straight I went for a pass which sent me for an unexpected ride off the track on the long grass, which was fine till I tried to get back onto the track. Front end washed out and down I went. Great pain in my boot as I realized my foot shouldn’t be like that and put it back to where it should be. Manager to get to my bike which a vintage rider picked up for me and said not to worry the medic was on its way and I just got on the bike and went. I couldn’t put weight on my right foot but I managed to get around the track with out going down and finishing the race. I can believe I came in second with a broken foot, but adrenalin with shock can be great thing. |
