The long and short of June
It has been an interesting remainder of June starting with the race in Lloydminster being rained out. With the time I ended up going to Drumheller, which turned out to be a great day of riding. Then during my Wednesdays practice I crashed and injured my hip and thigh muscle, leaving me limping for a few days. I made it out for the Sunday race, but ended up having my back go out which ended riding for three days only because it was time for the Raymond amateur national. Feeling I could ride one of the roughest local tracks, at a slower pace seemed possible when I headed out. It turned out to be a really rough and painful three days of riding; not being able to concentrate all that well left me in the rear of both the GP junior B and Ladies A classes. In the final moto of the GP junior B class I hit a square edge so hard I, dislocating my thumb and cracking a bone. Now with a provincial race in a week and a memorial race in a day, do I race and then take time off or forget the two races and just take time off to heal up? Most likely Ill tape and brace myself up and try the practice to see how things go and go from there.
