My name is Colt Jackson, and I am writing to ask for your support as I race in 85cc 7-11. I ride a 2006 Kawasaki kx 85.
I was born in Pamplico, SC, but now I live in Columbia, SC with my parents and my older sister. My dad is a pastor for an outreach ministry in downtown Columbia, and my mom works for Wachovia. I am eleven years old, and will be in the 6th grade at my local middle school.
Ever since I can remember, I have wanted a dirt bike. My dad rides too, and riding is a great way for us to spend time together. My parents bought me my first bike in December of 2005, and I spent the next year learning everything I could about riding from my dad. I even have the same riding number he does 217.
In January of this year, I started competing, and am now second in the points race for 85 7-11 and third for 85 9-13 category for the 2007 Carolina Summer Nights, District 29. I also am a registered AMA rider.
I love to ride and race at every event I can. I also like to skateboard and ride BMX.
I have been a Christian as long as I can remember. My parents have been pastors since I was 2. I love going to church and learning all I can about what the Lord wants for me. I try really hard to be an example for Jesus and not what the world would want to all my friends at school and on the track. I know one day it will all be worth it.
I think I am a good rider to sponsor because I enjoy the sport, and am dedicated to improving my skills so that I can succeed in races. I feel really blessed and grateful to have the opportunity to race, and am thankful that I have done this well already.
I know that racing is challenging, but I am already good at overcoming challenges. In the second grade, we found out that I am dyslexic “I was two grade levels behind my class. But now, I’ve worked hard, and since then, have caught up so I am only one grade level behind.
Even though I have a lot of fun riding, I know it will take hard work to keep going. I appreciate you considering me for sponsorship. I am grateful for any support you can provide as I continue to pursue my dream of dirt bike racing.
