HISTORY My name is Devon Kessman. Im fourteen and I race amateur motocross. I ride a 2005 yz 125 and Train with the best in the west ,Motcross teacher Eric Waunch: www.ewmxschools.com. Ive been riding for a few years now I started out on an xr 70 two weeks later I got an xr 80. Then about a year or so after that I got 1050$ to buy a yz 80 for my birthday I rode trails up until summer of that year . My dad went to highschool with Eric waunch so thats how I met him when my dad brought me to one of his motcross schools at MXGP in monroe, washington. I soon joined in with the now closed private track in snohomish called dairyland, Where I practiced frequently. In 2006/2007 I won the Nw Arenacross nationals in the 85 beg class. The spring of 2007 Eric waunch sold me his 2005 Yz 125. I practiced at Dairyland on that as well and I got very quick. My first race on the 125 was at washougal, that was a fun race although it was my first race on the 125 and my first race at washougal I placed 18th in the beg class. while training at dairyland in may I wadded up and broke my wrist, luckily I was only out for 3 weeks,But the day I got the cast off my wrist I went racing at hannegan speedway. I was doing well i didnt get a great start but I was charging through the pack.I was making the pass for 3rd over a 3rd gear jump that I was going off in 4th, I went 84 feet on a 50ft jump and snapped my ankles. I had to get surgery on my right ankle. But now im Recover nd training harder then ever. I lift weights, run and train with Eric. Oh an my otside life is pretty much school hanging out with my friends riding bmx and bmx trails, going to the movies, hanging out with my girlfriend, and playing video games. GOALS FOR THIS YEAR:
My goals for the 2009 season are to do well. I plan on making it to some of the bigger races this season and hopefully getting some podium finishes. Outdoors, Im going to try and get my parents to save money so I can race the wash. state champion series. I also plan on improving my skills so I can ride the well known Junior class(C). Other than that my goal is to make myself proud and my sponsors and friends and family proud. COMPETITIVE HIGHLIGHTS: I was the NW Arenacross Nationals 85 Beginner champion in 2007
