Personal History

My name is Lucinda Milford, and I will be 40 in September. I have three sons that all started racing in the 2019 season in the SCRC circuit full time. I had never ridden in my life and my youngest told me that I could never do it so I bought a bike and jumped on the track close to the end of the 2019 season. I ended up 8th overall for the season and decided that I wanted to continue. I pushed hard in 2020 and jumped off my 150 and onto a 250 and ended up 5th overall and on the podium. Last season in 2021, I raced C Class and Ladies. I ended the season in a cast due to a broken ankle but placed 10th overall in C Class and 7th in Ladies. In 2022, we are starting off strong. I will run in Ladies and Moto Mom classes in a 2021 Kawasaki 250.

Our whole family goes, and we have between 4 to 5 bikes on the track. We are known as DBR Racing and we have fell in love with the sport. My boys and husband push me every ride to improve, and they are the greatest cheering section! We have a wonderful circuit in Southeast, Saskatchewan, Canada called SCRC and the encouragement from everyone to push harder is so incredible and it is such a fantastic environment.

Dierks is our oldest. He will be 16 this winter. He finally got his first full season in this year. While practicing on our home track last spring he had a wreck and broke his right femur. So, he took the time to heal last season in 2020. He jumped on his bike to ride the track two months after surgery.  He joined me in C Class and also rode in Youth Class on his 250F in 2021.  He placed 7th overall in C Class and 11th in Youth. This was a big year for him. The last season he raced; he was still on a 65CC. We are very proud of him. He rocked it!! Dierks is back in C Class and Youth for the 2022 and has come out ripping hard!

Brooks turns 14 in September this year. He started racing motocross on his 10th birthday at the end of the season and placed 6th. He lives, eats and breathes riding. He is very passionate and competitive about it. The boys’ Dad has even built us a home track so we can also train for racing. Brooks first two full seasons, he placed 3rd overall for our circuit and was on the podium on his 65. He has also started to ride an 85 in the 2020 season and is a natural. He stepped up to the 85 class and Supermini in 2021 and was on the podium for both. He finished the race season with a broken foot. That didn't even slow him down on the track. He placed 3rd overall in both 85CC and Supermini. He has also grown a lot this season so he is riding a 250F as well and will step up again. This season in 2022, Brooks is on a 2016 KX250F and is crushing the big bikes. He has jumped right into the B Class and loving it.

Royce is the youngest and turns 11 in September. He jumped on for a full season in 2019 and stole the show. He came in and took the circuit by storm. He won 1st on his 50 and even missed two races due to a broken bike at the track. Not one tear. He stood on the line and cheered the rest on. He is an animal! If he isn’t on his bike, he is watching videos about being on the track. He BRAPS inside his helmet while riding. He is one of a kind!  He won the 2020 season as well on the 50 and had a cast on his foot for one race. He told the doctor to make sure to make the cast so he could wear his boot. He had to race on the weekend. He has also stepped up to the 65. He is a natural on his bike and worked hard and was incredible on the track this year with his 65. He ended up 4th overall and, on the podium, as well. He is also going to step up onto an 85 next season as well. Royce is cruising on the 65 and 85 in 2022 so far. It is going to be a great season!!

Riding Goals

Lu- My goals are to continue to push myself to be a better rider and hit the podium one day. And I know with determination and support I will get there. I get on and ride as much as I can between races to continue to train and improve daily. I have such determination and won’t quit!

Dierks- My goal is to have a full season under my belt. Nothing is going to hold me back! Racing Mom this year will fun. I finally love riding now that I fit a bike.

Brooks- My riding goals are to be get better at my jumps this year. I want work harder on my corners and speed on the track. I am up near the top but am working hard everyday to better my skills. I want to work harder at bad terrains and awful riding conditions as well. I also train a lot on my hole shots.

Royce- My goals are to be a better rider everyday. I want to stay with the big boys and learn as much as I can. I also want to teach my Mom as much as I can so she can get better too. I am not a quitter and push myself to get to the finish line everytime.

Competitive Highlights

Lu- My highlights for myself are that I got on the bike to begin with and ended up in the top ten my first year. That was such an accomplishment in itself.
We started our season off In an absolute mud hole and I pushed myself for a 5th place overall. I still am in complete shock. 2022, pushing myself in the heat and mud and coming out with two big wins. I am gaining more speed every time!

Dierks-  My biggest highlight is getting back on my bike 2 months after I broke my femur. I am working on building strength to get back on. 2022, first podium!! That is the best feeling to work so hard for it.

Brooks- Placing overall 3rd on the podium in my first and second seasons were a huge highlight.  2022, moving to a big bike and working on everything it takes. I LOVE everything about it.

Royce- Winning the 50cc division the 2019 and 2020 season was the best moment ever!!! And winning a hole shot in the 65cc against the bigger boys was the greatest! 2022, getting on a bigger bike again and going out there and working for it!
