Personal History

I bought my first bike in 2001. A few years later, a friend mentioned some off-road races he had done in the past. I was immediately drawn to the fact that I could compete on a motorcycle on the trails and terrain that I love to ride. After a couple of races, I was hooked. Now I can't get enough and can't wait for the 2013 season to start.

I've worked with the Utah sanctioning body (USRA) to create GIS (digital) maps of the desert courses. These maps were presented to the BLM for course approval and to help keep trails open. Outside of racing, I'm the proud father of two young daughters. I'm lucky to have a family who is so supportive of my racing. Living in Salt Lake City, I'm also an avid snowboarder and mountain biker. I was the About.com Guide to Snowboarding for 5 years and have held a seasons pass to my local resort (Brighton) for the past 14 seasons.

I didn't start racing until my 30's, so I'm thoroughly enjoying every second of it. I'm looking forward to racing select USRA (Utah Sportsman Racing Association) races again in 20013. I believe my positive outlook at the races would be an asset to any potential sponsor.

Riding Goals

I plan to race the 2013 USRA Desert series, including 3 rounds of the AMA National Hare & Hound series. My first goal is to finish every race that I enter. I'm hoping for some wins in my age class and some top 10 Amateur overalls.

Competitive Highlights

2006 was my first full season of racing. I started in the Novice class and finished 3rd (Over 30) for the year. I took 2007 off from racing when my wife and I had our second daughter. In 2008, I moved up to the Amateur class and again placed 3rd in my age class (Over 35). In 2010, I was able to finish FIRST in my class for the year!

I'm just happy to be able to have fun with racing in my mid-30's. Finishing the 2012 season healthy, with no dnf's and with plenty of stories to tell is a great accomplishment.
