My name is Brandon Barrett, I'm 35 years old and live in Noel MO. I got into riding as a hobby with my son Blake, and got the fever to race. I have not riden a dirt bike since high school and found out it"s a little harder than I remember. My son and I go to the track 2 or 3 times a week to ride. This is now my second season racing motocross and I love it. Motocross keeps me in pretty good shape and I have met a lot of new friends. Going to the track is a wonderful way to spend time with my family, and thats what its all about.
Since I am still fairly new, I just want to learn to ride like the more experienced riders who make it look so easy going around the track. I am working for a top 8 finish at a state race in the 2009 season. I did not ride any of the state races last season, but for 2009 that is what I am striving for.
I have been a baseball coach on my son's team for the last 6 years. Motocross has become such a big part in our life that my son did not even try out for the ball team this season and I did not coach. I am a competive person by nature, but have always relied on other memebers of my team. This is the first sport I have been involved in where I am the only person involved. Its funny because the guys I race with all get along and really enjoy just getting out and riding. Win or lose its all about having fun.
