Rider Updates

Feb 25 2013

So begins the 2013 season.  Brock has decided to add some Off-Road racing to his schedule for 2013, and won his very first event, the Oreana 100.  For 2013, Brock will contest the RMX Motocross North Series, ride the China Hat ISDE, Round 3 of the National Hare and Hound Series, other select Off-Road races and select MX events in California (as soon as school lets out for the summer).  This year we have decided, as a family to be doing much less LOCAL racing, and far more regional racing.  In addition, the off time will be spent riding and training together; with his trainer, Ryan Picard (former AMA MX and SX pro).

Brock won his first two events of the year, and 2013 is looking like a great year indeed!

Aug 13 2011

Brock and his Mom traveled back to California to spend time racing new kids on new tracks.  As everyone knows, the level of competition is very high in California; and this was yet another opportunity for Brock to hone his skills against faster kids.

Just as we had hoped, Brock did very well in California, posting three top 5 finishes; including an overall win.  In addition, he showed the speed to stay with the Intermediate level kids in the 65 class.  All in all, this was a great trip for Brock's confidence and speed; as well as, great sponsor exposure.

Special thanks to Oneal MX, MPA Amsoil, Vortex Racing, Smith, Flatout MX

Jun 23 2011

Brock made the trip to his first ever National Level event, at Mammoth Mountain.  His performance was better than expected, particularly given a mechanical failure of his modified race bike.

On Monday, 6/20, Brock set average lap times in practice riding his stock practice bike.  On Tuesday, 6/.21, Brock was able to put up solid lap times with his modified KTM 65SX.  However, during the Heat Race, his mod bike expired on the third lap; while he was in qualifying position.  Even with the help of Micth Peyton and Factory KTM, his race bike was not able to be fixed for the remainder of the event.

Because of this, Brock was forced to race his bone stock KTM 65SX practice bike.  This put him at a significant disadvantage, competing with the newer, modified motorcycles.  However, Brock pressed forward giving 110% for the remainder of the day.  Unfortunately, Brock missed the main event by one position on Tuesday, finishing 41st overall.

Following Tuesday's races, Brock's sister and I worked tirelessly to prep his KTM and give him some extra power with a Pro Circuit exhaust and improved jetting.  In practice, Brock set the his best lap times of the event.  In the Heat race, Brock got a 5th place start and was looking to make the main event out of the heat race.  Unfortunately, a collision with another rider caused him to finish just outside an automatice berth.  When Brock made his way to the LCQ, he told me that he was, "just going to go for it!"  And go for it he did....Brock finished the LCQ in 15th, making the main event at his first ever national level event.

When Brock lined up for the main event, he was stuck with the #40 outside gate.  He made the most of his start, by getting into the top 25 druing the first lap.  However, a minor crash early in the race, sent him to the back of the pack.  Brock was able to make up some po

Dec 11 2010

Tonight Brock was awarded the year end OMC Club Championship for the 65cc 6-9 class.  Brock held the highest number of points for both the summer and winter series 2010.  Congratulations Brock.

Oct 13 2010

With 1-1 scores in the 6-9 and open classes over the weekend, Brock is the 65cc champion in both of these classes!  Thanks to all our 2010 sponsors!  We look forward to a successful 2011.

Aug 22 2010

Brock became the 65cc 6-9 year old champion for the Thunder Moutnatin Series (Idaho) for 2010.  This was a traveling series that put some of the fastest riders in the State of Idaho together on the same tracks.

Brock stated the series in the 65 Beginner class.  However, due to his speed an pregression in on the bike he (and 50% of his points) were moved up into the age group class.  With his skill and a little luck, Brock was able to edge out the other riders for the class championship.

While summer is now 'officially' over, and winter begins to loom in the great white north; Brock is preparing for the final three rounds of the OMC Summer Series in the 65cc 6-9 and Open classes.  With a little bit of luck, Brock may once again be crowned - Champion.

Than you to all of Brock's sponsors for 2010!  Without you, this would not be possible.

Jun 7 2010

Brock won both the 50 7-8 age group class and the 65 beginner for the 2010 OMC Winter Series.  Brock has finished up his pee-wee career and will be contesting the 65cc class exclusively for the remainder of 2010.

Thanks to all our family and sponsors for all the help so far this year!

May 26 2010

Brock will point-out in the 50 class this summer, therefore he has been testing the larger 85cc bikes and is riding them well.  Since he is not eligible to ride the class until he turns 9 (October), he will be testing and practicing, full time, on the larger bike come summer time.  We will likely make the switch from KTM to Suzuki for the new 85cc machine due to the sketchy rear suspension on the larger KTm's.

Mar 8 2010

Brock's KTM50 had a wheel bearing issue this weekend, so he decided to race his 65 for the first time.  We entered him in the 65 beginner, and he won the first moto!  Unfortunately, he crashed in the second moto could not get his bike restarted; however, overall his day was a success!

Feb 17 2010

Thanks to all of the people and compaines that supported Brock through the 2009 MX Season.  These include: SixSixOne, O'neal Moto, Smith Optics, MPA Amsoil, RG3 Suspension, Jason @ MotoOne and Mom!!  Without all of you, the 2009 Championship would not have been possible.

We are looking forward to the 2010 MX Season that will include the OMC Winter and Summer Series, the Thunder Mountain Idaho MX Series, and possibly the Hangtown Amatuer MX.  Also, for 2010, Brock will be getting professional MX coaching and will be working toward qualifiying for Loretta Lynn's in 2011.

Feb 2 2010

For 2010, Brock will contest the Thunder Mountain (Idaho) Series.  This is a traveling series that will visit tracks throughout Idaho.  Each race is a two day format, with seven rounds and thirteen total races.  Brock has decided to contest the 50 Open and 50 7-8.

Feb 2 2010

Brock was awarded second place year end awards for his performance in both the 50 7-8 and 50 Open.  These awards were based on the number of point gain in both the Winter and Summer Series throughout 2009.

Brock's goal for 2010 is to win the OMC Club Championship in both 50 classes.

Oct 6 2009

With one race still left to go, Brock has wrapped up his first ever overall championship in the PeeWee 7-8 year old class.  The last race of the season will be on 10/18, which will decide the PeeWee Open Class Championship.  Congratulations kiddo, and good luck on the 18th!

Sep 13 2009

Today we picked up a KTM 65SX for the 2010 season.  Brock will start practice on the new bike starting next month [it's a birthday present].

Aug 23 2009

As of today, Brock has sole possession of the points lead in the PeeWee 7-8.  However, with only a 2 point margin Brock will need to work hard to earn the #1 plate.  Also, Brock is currently in 2nd place for the PeeWee Open class, and is 26 points behind after missing the first race.

Brock has had a total 11 moto wins and 7 overall wins for 2009!

Jun 9 2009

Brock is now on a KTM 50SX SRPRO!  The new bike is far superior to his DRZ70, and this weekend results prove it!  2-1 Pee-Wee 7-8 and Open for overalls in both classes!

Thanks to 661, Smith Optics and Amsoil for all the support.

Mar 23 2009

Saturday: We had a mixed weekend of racing.  In the 7-8 class, Brock did ok in both motos.  The promoters had the kids riding the full MX course instead of a mini track or modified MX course.  Because he is on a 4 stroke mini, Brock struggled to keep up with power of the KTM's in the long straights.  He gave it 110% and never gave up.

In the Open class, weather played a HUGE factor.  A massive thunderstorm turned the track into a mud pit, and Brock DNF'd after crashing and injuring his left thigh.  Ultimately he was Ok, but really shaken up.

Sunday: More heavy rain overnight.  The promoters tried to create a makeshift track out of sand.  This was not effective, and this race should have been cancelled.  That said, Brock tried the best he could given the conditions.  He finsihed the first moto in fifth, and then DNF'd.  His chain guard and case became filled with a sand/mud mix; locked his rear wheel solid.  This was an unfortunate end to the weekend, and Brock was a little frustrated, to say the least.

Since then, he has been on his practice track 3-5 days a week, school work depending.  He had been riding so much that I have had toruble keeping up with the maintenance.  He is determined, and I expect he will have better results at the May 3rd summer series opener.

Jan 2 2009

Brock finsished second overall for the summer series in his class.  He was awarded a series plaque engraved with his name, and he was stoked.

For 2009, Brock will be moving up to PW7-8 and Open7-8.  Wish us luck for the season!

Oct 21 2008

Unfortunately, the October rounds of the 'Summer' Series got cancelled due to snow!  I am third overall in points with one round left, 11/2.
