Personal History
I bought my first bike, a 1980 KE100 at 16 after I started hanging out with friends that rode. After a full summer of riding. I quickly grew a hunger for a little more. That fall I bought and rebuilt a 1997 Honda CR125 and started to race with the Forward Motion Hare Scrambles Championship (FMHSC.) I upgraded to an 06 CR 250 after a couple of years and that's where I am today.
Riding Goals
My first race was in 2005 and I got hooked. I did a few more in 2006 and placed 3rd in the Sportsman annual points in 2007. In 2008 I placed 4th in the C class standings and backed that up a year later by getting 3rd in the C-Advanced class points (equivalent to B in most other series'.)
I'd say that my best moment racing was 2008 at Knoxville. It was a super hot day with high humidity. (More than a few pulled out because of the heat and people were needing IV's to re-hydrate) I grabbed the hole-shot and checked out. During the race I lost a handguard and had to stop to take it off before scoring. I always push hard and never pull out early, even if I sometimes should as this was the hottest I had ever been. I ended up winning the class by 12 minutes because everyone else was smart enough to not push so hard. That was my first and sweetest victory.
Competitive Highlights
My goals are to just simply compete in every FMHSC race this year. I would like to finish top 3 weekly but realistically, I go out and try to win every race, without that mentality I believe you never will. A few black jack enduros are on the calendar as well, as those are the ultimate test of endurance for me.
