Personal History

My name is Evan Saindon, I am 14 years old and live in Tillamook Oregon.  I began riding when I was 3 years old in 2006.  I started out mostly riding trails with my family.  It was not until 2015 that I decided I wanted to start racing.  I started training with Tommy Weeck (RiseMX) and instantly fell in love with riding on tracks and started the 2016 session at Washougal in the Classic 7 Series.  My first start I finished 2nd and was fired up to hit the 2016 session head on.  Unfortunately, during practice for the next race, I crashed while trying to clear the triple at Washougal and broke my leg.  After a lengthy recovery, I resumed my training with Tommy Weeck and started my transition to a CRF 250R.  Taking the lessons learned from my training and 2016 miscalculations, I have been taking my 2017 session to refine my silks by working on holding my ground while running bar to bar, perfecting my starts on both concrete and dirt pads, passing, mental preparation and my consistency.  My primary focus has been on the Washougal Classic 7 series and Thursday Night Motocross (TNMX) at Portland International Raceway over the summer.  I had a short recovery time this in July from a wrist sprain at Washougal, but have recovered and been able to have some strong finishes.  My current plans are to run the 2017/2018 Oregon State Winter Series and Eugene Winter Series to focuse on big picture points racing. I will also continue my training Rise MX this winter and prepare for the 2018 season in the 250 C and B classes.  My goal is to be ready to be competitive at the 2018 AMA Amateur Days during the Nationals at Washougal and the 2018 Loretta Lynn’s regional qualifier.  Aside from the AMA events, my 2018 plan will focus on points racing the Washougal Classic 7, the Thursday Night Motocross Series, and the High Point Series at Mountain View MX as well as other various events.  I chose my number, 223, because it was my dad’s Surfman qualification number from his career in the U. S. Coast Guard.

My family has been riding for many years and I was taught to respect my fellow riders, the environment, use products I trust and only endorse company’s/products I believe in.  For that reason, my current sponsors/supporters include JMR Suspension, Rise MX, Fly Racing, FMF, Fusion Graphix, 100%, Twin Air, Dunlop, Risk Racing, Ryno Power, GoPro, and Slick Products.
