Personal History

I have been attending Bakersfield College full time for the past two years maintaining an overall grade point average of 3.41 in the Agricultural Business program.  I graduated from Bakersfield College this past May and I am currently attending California State University Bakersfield.  My major at CSUB is in Business Marketing.

While my academics remain of the highest importance to me, I also continue to work full time to finance my college education as well as my racing lifestyle.  I am currently employed at Direct Safety Solutions and my duties include shipping and receiving, delivery of products, and gas detection repairs.  I really enjoy my new job and it gives me time to be able to go riding.

I have been riding for almost two years, and I have to say that I am completely devoted to this sport.  In high school I was an athlete who was always playing sports, and was pretty successful at them.  But after high school I really didn’t have any sports to play because the local college I attended dropped those sporting programs.  This opened the door to one of my life long dreams of riding a motorcycle.  It was a tough road at first to get a bike because of my past health history.  At six years of age, I was diagnosed with a rare kidney tumor and ultimately had to undergo major surgery for the removal of my left kidney.  It was malignant and I spent six months undergoing intensive chemotherapy.  I have now recovered completely after having more than five surgeries from birth to age twelve.  My doctor gave me full release and sent me on the path to accomplish one of my dreams.

Racing dirt bikes is a very time consuming sport and there really is not any down time in the sport.  The majority of the races happen from fall through spring, but there are still plenty of races and events happening throughout the year.  I have been racing almost every weekend, and on the weekends when I’m not racing I go riding at local tracks to brush up on my skills.  Most of my racing is done all around the Central Valley, with a few exceptions. I have attended races in Northern California, Southern California, and Stateline, Nevada. I have been trying to go to as many local races as I can possibly afford to race in, and I have accumulated over nine races in the past three months alone!  In the up coming months I have two separate race series that I have planned to race in; the Taft Arena Cross Summer Series (June-August), and then the Dominator MX Series (August 9th – September 13th).  I have a very positive attitude when it comes to riding and I always give my all when it comes to practice, working out, free riding, and racing.  This is truly the most challenging and most fun sport I have ever participated in.  I also plan to progress in this sport as far as I can go, and my goals aren’t just set on one accomplishment; they are set on many.

Riding Goals

This year I plan on racing in the many California Motocross Assocation sanctioned races, and hopefully compete in a few AMA races.  I started racing last January as a beginner and this race season I will be a novice rider.  This year I plan to progress as far as I can and I am currently trying to get as much "seat time" possible.  Plus I am starting to train on the side when I am not riding my bike.  My plan is to become a Intermetdiate rider hopefully by this time next year.

Competitive Highlights

Well when I was racing the begginer class. I was always running top three and I took several first places in this class.  I also just switched from 2-stroke to 4-stroke and that has been a big help in my progression in racing dirtbikes.
