Personal History
I started riding late in the year of 2009 when I was 14 and I decided to start racing shortly after that. My first year of racing I made a goal to place top 3 in Open Women in my local Supercross series. I ended up getting a 3rd. 2nd place and I had the exact same amount of points (115), but she went to one more race than I did. I was still ecstatic and relieved that I accomplished my goal!
I competed in almost all the races of the Kansas Motocross and Supercross series' that year (2010). In 2011, I rode with my dad and my little brother as frequently as I could, but we didn't race much. I couldn't ride for a month due to my concussion and my knee injuries put me out for a few weeks later in my motocross career. My favorite part about 2011 was that I raced in another state for the first time. I was exposed to a whole new atmosphere and plenty of competition. Another highlight from that year was when I raced with the boys for the first time (that went a lot better than I thought it would!). I also began racing in Oklahoma, another state I hadn't raced in before. I remember competing at Reynard Raceway's Halloween Bash and getting a 2nd! Since it was an annual race, top 3 got huge trophies. Here's mine!
After 2012 came around, I picked up my speed and improved in certain areas. We still only raced here and there but we rode when we could. I started going to training classes with local pros and because of that I got faster and my confidence grew.
Fortunately, I was able to ride and race more in 2013. I got to ride and/or race in Kansas, Oklahoma, Texas, and Illinois. I also had the honor of being able to train with Tommy Hahn! That day of training was when I got out of my comfort zone and learned a bit more about myself as a rider. It was the best I had ever ridden.
Toward the end of 2013, I raced the Hahn Brother Supercross Shootout and won the second moto of the Open Women class. It was the first time I had ever won and even though I won one mere moto, I was determined to win again. And my determination still hasn't diminished. A couple months after the Supercross Shootout, my family and I moved to a house with 14 acres of land. We made a few tracks as soon as we owned the property. I've come a long way in a small number of months. Having a corner track in my yard, trails to explore, and having natural elevation to jump off of, I believe I can become the rider I've always dreamed to be. Not only do I believe that I can achieve greatness, I'm going to work to get to where I want to be.
It is now 2014 and I think that this is my year.
Riding Goals
I hope to:
- Qualify for Loretta Lynn's
- Place at least top 5 in each Open Women race
- Place at least top 10 in classes such as Open 2 stroke, 250 Beginner, Open Outlaw, and/or 450 C
- Race a National (Ponca City Grand National, Loretta Lynn Amateur National, and/or Mini O's)
- Take my place as "the fastest girl in Kansas"
- Get the holeshot in almost every moto of every race.
Competitive Highlights
As mentioned in my About Me, I tied for 2nd place in Open Women in my local Supercross series during my first year of racing. I occasionally race classes such as 250F Beginner, 450 C, Open 2 Stroke, and Open Outlaw. I also race in other states: Kansas, Oklahoma, and Texas (for now).
