Personal History

I'm Tyler Moats. I am an amateur motocross racer.

I started riding dirtbikes off and on when I was 11 years old. in 2007, at 17 I became infatuated with the world of Motocross. Ever since I was a little kid I have wanted to be one of two things, a pro race car driver in Rally or Road Course racing, or a Pro motorcycle racer.

I have spent the 2008 and 2009 racing seasons on a private track at home, practicing soley to achieve a skill level that I might be able to compete in the 2010 National Amateur championship at Loretta Lynn's. I believe every day I get closer to that reality.

In my spare time I love to hang out with my friends, go see movies, play guitar and tune cars. I have rebuilt several engines since I was 17, and have even helped to build 2 track cars from a rolling chassis to a full on race car. I have 2 dogs, both boys. A black lab named House (after my favorite TV show) and a Treeing Walker Coonhound named Copper. I love them both dearly

My goal in life is to make a living in the world of Motocross. I would like to one day open up my own Motocross shop and track with a goal of one day having the AMA host races there.

In the meantime, and for the present, I want to become a professional racer or mechanic in order to learn more about my sport, improve my skills, establish funds for my future goals, and most of all to have fun doing the one thing I love most in life.

I hope to be in this business for many many years to come. Both as a spectator and participant.

After all, This is a way of life. This is MOTOCROSS!

Riding Goals

My main goal for 2010 is to win my local Supercross series, and to qualify for the Loretta Lynn's National. I am also keeping a team focus with MOTOKINGS RACING as always. Making sure that the team spends quality time together on and off the track is a must.

I plan to continue to hone my skills to a professional level, and I hope that I may be injury free and can continue doing what I love.

I also plan to participate in all the events I can logically attend.

Competitive Highlights

I haven't raced since 2007. I've spent all my time practicing, focusing on getting better.

However, I did enter a race in the 125 2 stroke class in June of 2009 on a Honda water cooled 150F. I was able to hold 4th place both motos against the bigger bikes, thought that one was pretty fun. I felt confident I could have one if the bike had stiffer suspension, as I was definately too heavy for the setup lol.
