Luc-André GirardMaria, QC. CanadaLuc-André Girard started to ride motocross at the age of nine years old. Now, he is fifteen years old. He has been racing for four years in the province of Quebec, in Canada. He was in the association of Challenge Québec Motocross. In 2004, after he competed in four races on ten in the championship of 85cc, 7-11 years old, he won first position in the race but finished second in the final point standings. It’s really good for a first year of competition! In 2005, he started to race in the category 85cc 12-15 years old. People would think that it would be more difficult for him to climb on the podium because he was the youngest racer in his category. But, it was not a problem at all! After all, he finished third in the final point standings. In 2006, after eight races for the championship, he broke his collarbone, he was in first position in the overall point standings. Eleven days later, he was already able to race again. He did the ninth race and the last one, to finish first. He was the overall champion of 85cc, 12-15 years old 2006! This year, to start his season, he went to Ste-Julie’s track for the CMRC provincial race to try to get more competition but there was none. He finished second, behind an other guy of the Challenge Quebec Motocross who Luc-André would have been able to win against. This year, he finished second in 85cc, 12-15 years old and first in the super mini 85-105cc. He started to race in the junior’s category 125cc with only a 105cc and he won his first trophy in this category. He won the Series prestige AX (it’s like supercross but in an arena) 2007. At the end of the summer, he went to Budds Creek for the Motocross of Nations. He raced in the amateur class Friday and Saturday night. He finally finished first in 85cc 14-15 years old and second in supermini 85-105cc, 12-15 years old. You can look on the next page to see his rank and a
