Personal History
My name is Matt Bacon, I served in 3rd Ranger Battalion from 2003-2007 and I deployed three times with them to Iraq. After Ranger Battalion I went to work for a company called Triple Canopy to provide diplomatic security at the embassy in Baghdad Iraq. I still continue to serve in the Texas National Guard with the 1st of the 103 airborne unit. When I was a kid I loved riding every day. My first bike was a CR 125 at the age of 12. I rode at all the tracks I could but couldn't afford to actually race when I was younger. During my stent in the military and other things I had a long break in riding. I decided to pick it up again this year and continue to get better. I am now a maintenance supervisor at Texas Quality Beverage. I started off 2017 by buying a 2013 KX 250F. I raced in a scramble cross and enduro race at the end of the year. I just recently purchased a 2018 RMZ250 and looking forward to competing a lot in 2018.
Riding Goals
My goals for 2018 are to make it to 1 to 2 events a month. Riding a new RMZ250 I want to get in practice at least once a week as well. I want to in top 5 finishes in the 250 novice and over 30 class by the end of the year.
