Personal History

Hi, my name is Nathan Blais. I really enjoy riding and racing dirt bikes. My first dirt bike was a 2005 Honda crf50. After a few years, I was ready for a bigger and better bike. It was a 2009 Kawasaki KLX 110. It was really fun and fast. At this time I was 10 years old. And I was getting to be to old and big for it. It was the first bike I raced, and after that race I was attached to Harescrambles. I started racing near the end of the race season so I was only able to do 4 or 5 races. I realized that if I wanted to keep getting faster and keep doing the races I was going to need a 2 stroke. In the offseason, I got a 2009 KTM 65SX and right when I saw it in person I knew it was going to be a good race season. In late April, I went to Jimmy Weinharts Training Facility. I stayed for a week and did the training program. One week goes by and i'm so much faster. At last I was ready for the 2018 NETRA and JDay offroad racing series.

Riding Goals

In each race I participate in I focus to try and get faster and get a better position every time. Eventually I plan to get first in a NETRA and JDay offroad race.

Competitive Highlights

In my first JDay offroad event, I did the Jday PeeWee Trailrider class which is for 110s. At this time I was racing my 110 and it didn't have much ground clearance at all and riding was a little tough. I placed fourth on my 110, and I was pretty happy with my position. After a hour or two I was going to try the Mini C class for the first time, I was pretty nervous because this was the first race I did that had a dead engine start. The race was after the pros went and the ruts were almost as tall as me in the corners! About halfway through the race I thought that I couldn't finish because the track was way to rutted out and crazy for my little 110. However, I got back in the race and finished. Although I almost came in almost dead last, I was proud of myself for finishing even though it was the toughest thing I had ever done.
