Personal History

My name is Nick Wegner.  I am ten years old.  I have been riding for just about four and a half years.  I am currently riding a 2016 KTM 85sx.

I started riding motorcycles because my friend let me ride his motorcycle, then we went and watched the Hangtown Classic and I was hooked.  My first race series was the 2016 Spring District 36, Cross Country, C Class 50 cc series.  I won at Pichacho Creek and took podium spots in most races.  I finished 2nd overall in the series.  I did a few races at the Sacramento Raceway Summer Motocross series.  I raced in the 2017 Spring District 36, Cross Country, B Class 50 cc series and ended up 4th overall in that one.  I finished 12th in the 2018 Spring District 36 Cross Country C Class 65cc series.  I finished 3rd in the 2018 District 36 Enduro PeeWee Class.  I finished 4th in the 2019 Spring District 36 Cross Country C Class 65cc series.  And I am currently 2rd in the 2019 District 36 Enduro PeeWee Class.  Unfortunately I do not get to race in the fall because the races conflict with my football games.

I really like trail riding and racing cross country and enduros.  I like the friends I have met at the races, we ride bikes and play before and after the races.  I am a member of the AMA and District 36.  Someday I want to be a member of the PolkaDots Motorcycle Club.

I have done some training with Anson Maloney at Maloney Training Facility (MTF), and with Garrahan Off-Road Training.  I need to work on pretty much everything, and I don’t really love the mud or deep ruts.

I am in the 5th grade at Russell Ranch Elementary School in Folsom, California.  I have a 4.0 GPA and I am really good at math.  I have received several awards at school including the Magnificent Mustang Award and the Silver Horseshoe Award.  These are for citizenship, being friendly, helpful, following the rules and doing well in class.

Besides riding motorcycles, I have played football in the Folsom Junior Bulldogs Program for the past five years.  We just completed this season winning the SAC League Championship.  I am the starting strong side (Sam) linebacker.  I love calling the strength, blitzing, taking on blockers and tackling.  In the past 5 years we have gone 54-5.  I also play catcher and first base during baseball season.  I have wrestled and done jiu-jitsu.  I also like golf, shooting, hunting, fishing and swimming.

I live in Folsom with my parents and my little sister.

Riding Goals

My riding goals are just to become a better rider.  I need to learn how to corner and jump better and better use my clutch and brakes.  I need to get better in the mud. I would like to race in as many races as possible this year to get more experience and learn.   I look forward to winning more races, meeting more friends at the races and having fun on my motorcycle with my friends and family.
