Personal History
I was born and raised in Montrose Colorado, which I believe to be one of the Country's best area to ride riding. I started riding four wheelers and snowmobiles when I was about 12 years old and had my first dirtbike when I was 16, a KDX 200. From that point in my life I cant remember not having a dirtbike in my garage. I did spend a year racing quads (not a great idea) and then spent a couple years racing Snowcross ending up 3rd overall in the state of Colorado. I really didn't get serious into racing motorcycles until 2003 in which I was talked into racing a Supercross by a friend. After that point I was hooked and spent the next 2 years racing the series full time. By the end of 2005 I had earned 3 state titles in 2 divisions of Supercross. As I turned Pro I realized that competing with the young blood was not only expensive but painful so I decided to go back to riding recreationally for the next few years. In 2009 I was introduced to Enduro and HARE Scramble racing. I have found that I have a huge passion and ability for riding tight, rocky, rutted, technical trails that never stop challenging you or giving you a moment to relax.
I was blessed and found a woman, who happened to be an Ex National Mountain Biking Champion, that supports my racing and pushes me to be better, train and race. She also talked me into spending the money to purchase a new 2013 KTM 450SXF Factory Edition bike. After a few suspension mods to better suit it for single track riding the bike is amazing and nothing but smiles to ride.
Riding Goals
My goals are to of course still continue to improve my skills and continue to rack up podium finishes in all events. I love to ride and want to continue to hone in certain skills and abilities. I have become to realize that as you improve your riding skills and become better and better that the quality of your equipment really does play a big role. Quallity aftermarket parts on your bike and you can drastically change the outcome of your performance.
in 2014 I plan on attending the entire WEBE Hare Scramble events in which I hope to compete for the points in the Expert class. These events will be held in Colorado, Utah and New Mexico. I also will attend as many RMEC Enduro events as possible which will also bee in Colorado, New Mexico and Texas.
Competitive Highlights
In 2005 I finished 1st overall in two separate classes in our local State Supercross Series, Changing to outdoor Enduro series and Hare Scrambles I have had multiple 1st places as well as multiple podium finishes in the last several years. In 2013 I went undefeated in my division in the WEBE Hare Scramble Series as well as in the RMEC Enduro races I attended to include an Overall Race winner at the SnowShoe Enduro which this year will be a National Event.
