I am a proud husband and father of 3 kids. My youngest child is the first to race and is what has brought me back to racing after more than 10 years away. Motorcycles have been my passions since I was a little boy. I began riding by 5 years old and never quit. I started racing as an adolescent and was fortunate to have good success all the way through the "pro-am" level in the early 1990's racing a limited schedule of selected Arenacross and Supercross events.
My racing slowed when I graduated from college and started in my career field. While building a business I continued riding into my +30 days but eventually racing gave way to casual riding. At the urging of my 5 year old son, I got back into racing when he started. While he has toyed around with racing for the last couple years, 2011 was our first complete season; his first running an entire series and mine back in racing. We have enjoyed a successfule season with him winning the Iowa State Stadium series 50cc Junior class and my getting second in the +40 class in the same series.
When we are not racing we enjoy biking and attending his two older sisters events and supporting them the way they have supported us. We could not do this without the help of mom or the girls.
For the 2012 season I will continue to compete in the Iowa State Stadium Series at Hawkeye Downs in Cedar Rapids IA as well as run in selected events of the Nuclear Series in Byron Il, Sunset Ridge Motocross in Walnut Il and the Megacross series in Mendots IL.
The majority of my interest is in helping my son attain his racing goals and for 2012 he wants more than ever to qualify for Loretta Lynn's. Heartbreak set in last year when he crashed and suffered a mechanical failure while in qualifying position. I will continue to race with him for as long as we are able to do this together.
We are very visible throughout Midwest racetracks as we try to maintain a professional racing operation. Both his and my motorcycles are identically adorned with graphics and we wear the same gear to give us that "team" finish.
We hope to be able to work with you in the coming racing season.
4 time Loretta Lynn qualifier in earlier years
in 2011 I was the runner up in the +40 class finishing 15 out of 18 motos on the podium.
