Personal History
When I turned 46, I was looking for a way to get around town and thought a moped would be perfect. But living at 6,200 feet in Truckee, CA, with a steep hill leading to our house, my husband suggested a dirt bike instead. Neither of us had ever ridden a dirt bike before, so I was hesitant, to say the least. A loud, clunky dirt bike was the last thing I wanted, but I decided to give it a try. That summer was full of falls, broken levers, and torn jeans as we both struggled to figure out how to ride. Yet, despite the challenges, I found myself falling in love with the thrill of it all. That reluctant start led to a passion for racing, winning titles, and becoming a part of an incredible dirt bike community.
Riding Goals
Future Goals Fall 24-Fall 25
- Earn enough points to advance to “B” Class
- Place Top 3 in Series Championship
- Participate in at least one hard enduro event in 2025
For the 2024-2025 season, I aim to refine my racing techniques by focusing on more technical and challenging terrain. This will involve participating in specialized clinics and dedicating additional time to practicing drills that enhance my control and precision on the bike. I also plan to engage more actively in the dirt biking community, both on and off the trail, by attending events, supporting fellow riders, and promoting the values of teamwork and mentorship. By sharing my experiences and lessons learned through social media, I hope to build a supportive network that encourages riders of all ages and skill levels to keep progressing and enjoying the sport.
