Personal History
My name is Travis Certo, I have three kids and a out standing fiancé that supports me with anything I do. There are many challenges in life and I treat everyone of them like it is a race. Being a twin, I was always challenged by my brother at everything we do together. That is how I got into jet skiing by my brother getting a 550 and taking me out to the lake. Now all my hobbies are working on jet ski’s all day long and trying to think of new and different way to build a ski. I am a member of American Power Boat Association (APBA) and always on pwctoday.com to find any new events coming up. On face book I have at lease 350 friends that are into jet ski’s like I am. I definitely going to be racing ski’s for many years to come.
Riding Goals
I started racing jet skis at the 2010 IJSBA race in Parker last year 2010 and really loved it. But last year was really about getting to know how everything works and how to set up my ski. Now that I have almost everything dialed in, the training begins. Lake pleasant is where I go 3 to 4 times per week to practice. A few kids came out there to just watch me practice and one came up to me to ask for my autograph. Then I decided to make jet skiing for a career because I love being a roll model for the kids. It shows them that there are other things to do than drinking and doing drugs. I try to go to Havasu every other weekend to actually run some bowie’s since they allow them out there. My goal is to be able to have the opportunity to ride with some of the best in the world and become a world champion.
Competitive Highlights
I started the 2011 race year with a 3rd place at the Mark hahn memorial 300 mile race. I am planning on doing better next race.
