Personal History
When I was seven years old my father told me I could get a dirtbike or a GameBoy but not both. Well I chose the dirtbike which was a PW50 and rode it into the ground. We had several hundred acres behind our home and I carved trails and rode as much as I could. Riding was never significant in my family so it wasn't surprising that I didn't know anything about races, or even jumps until I was a teenager. Once I realized you could launch these bikes in the air I couldn't make enough. I'd shovel dirt all day just to get a few feet further or higher. As it stands I've owned and ridden a PW50, DRZ125, TTR225, 06 Yz450f, 12 Yz450f. I rode up and attended local races until I was a senior in high school before I enlisted in the military. Two years without riding had gone by and I wanted that thrill back. Since then I have been trying to expand my knowledge, skills, and my love of the sport. Of course being in the military comes with a price; frequent deployments, and long training events often coincide with races or even series and can make it difficult to continue progressing my skill. All I can do is my best and most importantly enjoy myself. Lifes short, ride fast. -Zach
Riding Goals
Like stated above my goals are pretty simple. Have a good time, expand my knowledge, progress my skills, love the sport, and ride and race as much as I can and my career allows. If I could ride and work my way into B or A class that would be fantastic considering my time and budget. Whatever happens I'll always love the sport and do what I can.
Competitive Highlights
I can't name a particular race or event that would stand out. Every race I've been a part of I enjoyed. The riding, people, and atmosphere make it a good place to spend a weekend. If I had to mention one thing would be what I feel is my resilience. A few months ago I jumped from a plane for work on a Friday. I landed on concrete and was pretty banged up. I wasn't sure if I was going to be able to race but said what the heck and went with an injured leg. That pushed me harder and faster and I ended up doing alright in the race.
