Personal History

My name is Zach Thompson im 17 years old. I have been riding for about 5 and a half years. I started racing two years ago. I live in a town in Connecticut just over the boarder from Massachussets. My dad took me to the Southwick National when i was about eleven and ever since then i have been hooked. I love going to the races to watch and also to race. I saved up 1500 dollars for my first bike. I bought a 1996 KX125. I built a sand track in an abandonded tabacco field behind my house and that is where i train everyday. My buddie and i have built a couple table tops, woops, two doubles and a huge triple with his bob cat. I train as much as i can and race almost every single weekend. I have been consistent and have gotten top ten finishes all year. Im currently 3rd in the points chase for the 125c class.

Riding Goals

This up coming season (2008) i will be attending the Millsaps Training Facility as a year round member. I plan on training hard with Colleen and all the riders down there and hopefully qualifing for the Lorretta Lynns.

Competitive Highlights

My first race was at Southwick, MA. I got a decent start and began to move my way up to the front. I got to about 6th or 7th and washed out in a back corner. Couple guys went by and i finally remounted and started chasing. I remember i was really out of shape (especially for southwick) and i got real tired and couldnt catch back up. I finished tenth overall which i was very proud of since it was my first race at the hardest track on the pro national circuit.
